The Petit Train will take you through the windy streets of this vibrant neighborhood while you listen to the lively commentary and learn more about the city.

Enjoy guided commentary in English or French whilst taking in the sights and resting those legs from all the sightseeing. Sit back and enjoy the sights as you travel up to the magnificent Sacre Coeur. You’ll stop to get a closer look at this famous church while taking in sweeping views of the city – don’t forget to bring your camera for those awesome Insta-worthy snaps!

Discover the beautiful streets of the quirky Montmartre district and take the train up the hill for beautiful views over Paris. Hop on the Petit Train de Montmartre and enjoy a picturesque journey through the charming streets of Paris' artistic hub while taking in the stunning views of Paris. The mini-train will take you up and down the winding streets of the hill-topped Montmartre neighborhood, stopping off at the iconic Sacre Coeur and infamous Moulin Rouge for some of the best views of Paris. A great way to see the sites, without all the effort! The Petit Train de Montmartre leaves every 30 minutes in the summer, and every hour in the winter months. The train departs from Place Blanche (opposite the Moulin Rouge) or at the top of the hill, Place de Tetre. Enjoy guided commentary in French or English and even a bit of music, too!

Facts

  • “Montmartre” means “Mount of the Martyr” – the first bishop of Paris, Saint Denis, was decapitated at the top of the hill in 250 AD.

  • Until 1860, Montmartre was a different town from Paris and traditionally was in conflict with the rest of the city.

  • Picasso used to visit the Lapin Agile and would pay for his lunch with drawings.

  • Montmartre has it’s only vineyard – the only one in the whole of Paris.

  • During the Belle Epoque, Montmartre was a creative hub, attracting artists such as Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, Monet, Modigliani, Picasso, Mondrian and more.
