The Adler Planetarium was America’s first planetarium.
The museum's main entrance is called the Rainbow Lobby, thanks to its glass prisms that create a multi-colored effect as the sun sets over Chicago.
It's not just about astronomical exhibits - this is one of the best places to get a great view of the Chicago skyline.

CTA bus #146 stops along Michigan Avenue north of the river and on State Street south of the river and will drop you off in front of Adler Planetarium. Accessible by via stop 5 on the Big Bus Hop-On and Hop-Off Tour (also available with your pass).
CTA Orange, Red, or Green line. Exit the train at the Roosevelt stop. Then take CTA bus #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, which will drop you off in front of Adler Planetarium.
