Just visiting

Apsley House was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to London. We discovered it thanks to Jess from Love in London on YouTube, who described it as underrated — and boy, was she right! My husband and I absolutely loved our visit. The audio guide was exceptionally well done and probably one of the best we used during our entire trip. It walks you through the house step-by-step, so you always know where to go and what to listen to next. You never feel scattered or like you’re trying to figure out which number to press or which display you’re supposed to be looking at. The information was fascinating, the art collection and displays were incredible, and learning about the Duke of Wellington and his remarkable story added so much to the experience. The house itself is beautifully maintained, and the entire visit felt thoughtfully put together from beginning to end. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Apsley House. It offers tremendous value and was easily one of the best places we visited in London. If you’re using the Go City Pass, do not overlook this one!

Sleeper of a great art collection

This was a remarkable collection of art. Wasn’t on our highest level of planned stops but turns out to be a very nice collection in a nicely laid out fashion. I’d say don’t pass this by if you are nearby!

What a palladin dwelling the Iron Duke resided in for thirty five years, with bonnie views. He deserved it. Friendly & engaging & enthusiastic staff. Very clean toilets. An informative audio guide. Pleasant temp & an oasis of calm within a city of constant noise & movement.

I knew nothing about the Duke of Wellington before my visit but left not only educated but full of respect for his achievements. This tour is self-guided with free Austin and we'll worth a visit.
