Vaxholm Fortress (Fästning) is the most impressive historic building in Vaxholm, situated on a small island opposite the town of Vaxholm. The Fortress was built in the 1540s as part of the new defense along the Swedish coast and as a safeguard of Vaxholm and Stockholm, the Swedish capital. The Fortress museum has fascinating exhibits and films teaching you more about the military history of Sweden.

FrenchvisitorLa croisière en elle même est tranquille (conseil de réserver assez tôt le matin pour éviter les déconvenues) - a noter qu'elle est commune avec celle pour artipelago - la bateau s'arrête juste avant. Vaxholm est une petite île mignonne même si on en fait vite le tour.
