About this experience
Your trip to Paris would not be complete without touring this architectural masterpiece.
The writer Charles Perrault said Château de Maisons-Laffitte “is of such a singular beauty that there is no foreigner who does not go there to see it, as one of the finest things that we have in France."
Designed by François Mansart and built between 1630 and 1651, Château de Maisons-Laffitte is a significant and important example of French baroque architecture. After attending the inaugural grand reception of the castle, King Louis XIV called upon the decorators and sculptors who had worked at Maisons to help build Versailles.
