Overview
The Palace of Versailles is synonymous with royalty, opulence, and the French Revolution. Follow in the footsteps of Louis XIV, who was known as the Sun King, and explore the grand palace rooms, a fateful display of fabulous wealth and extravagance.
One of the most famous rooms is the breathtaking 70m-long Hall of Mirrors, with its floor-to-ceiling mirrored arcades, intricate windows, and twinkling chandeliers.
You’ll be able to see the Trianon and the personal estate of Marie Antoinette, the storied last Queen of France. Her landscaped gardens are filled with Virginia tulip trees and over 600 beautiful rose bushes.
This garden contrasts with the geometric precision of those surrounding Versailles, designed by the King before the fall of the monarchy in 1792.
The Royal Chapel was the last building commissioned by King Louis XIV before his death. Inspired by Gothic architecture, it has a vaulted ceiling dedicated to the Holy Trinity.

Dont buy thru the Go City app
DisappointedThe Palace of Versailles was absolutely beautiful! The only complaint I have purchasing thru the go city app was that you do not get time confirmation until a couple days before. I requested a 9:30 entry time a month before and about 2 weeks before the date they emailed me saying that time wasn’t available and I needed to pick another time which they provided. I then picked 11:00 entry time and they told me it was reserved for me. Then 3 days before they said 11:00 wasn’t available that the next available time was 1:30. They ended up sending me the 1:30 entry time tickets 2 days before but was not happy that they changed the time on me 3 times. You are better off getting your reserved times in advance thru the official Versailles website.

Nice Place To Start Your Historical Tour
Doesn’ t take long to go through at all, but neat to see. The staff there help as best they can, but aren’ t too invested in what is going on. Had a bit of trouble with the app, but it was a combination of cell data coverage failure (it worked fine after the tour, of course!) and the phone rebooting to clear the app out. They also gave us their tablet and headphones tour. I didn’t get to use this one. But will be reviewing it later if I can still access it.

JenniferDespite times tickets, we stood in line for over an hour in the hot sun. I should have investigated how things worked more thoroughly. The audio commentary was nice but I never knew where I was or what number to listen to.
