Reservations

Booking required

Advance booking essential — reserve your time slot via the booking portal. Your e-ticket will be sent by email once your booking is confirmed and your pass validated, no later than 24 hours before your entry time.

Please note:

Under-18s enter for free but still need a reserved slot — please include them when booking.
Slots sell out quickly, especially during April–October. If this is one of your must-sees, we suggest booking as soon as possible!
Tickets are issued in the lead traveller's name and are non-transferable.

Facilities

There is a free cloakroom under the Pyramid for coats and permitted bags (subject to availability).

Getting in

Go to the Pyramid entrance in the main courtyard and join the queue for visitors with a booked time slot. You'll find your e-ticket in your booking confirmation email. Have your e-ticket validated and then go through the security screening.

Once through, you're in the Hall Napoléon under the Pyramid — pick up a free map at the information desk and enjoy!

Please arrive within 30 minutes of your reserved time. Outside this window, you may be refused entry during busy periods.
Remember to bring your ID with you. Tickets are issued in the lead traveller's name and ID may be checked at the entrance — the name must match the booking. Visitors entering free (under-18s, EU/EEA residents under 26) must show valid photo ID or proof of eligibility.

Wheelchair accessibility

Step-free entry via the Pyramid lift, with lifts serving all wings and floors. Manual wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge under the Pyramid (subject to availability).

Visitor tips

We suggest saving your e-ticket to your phone or screenshotting it as signal around the Pyramid can be poor at busy times.
Any exit is final so make sure to plan around your must-sees!

Please note:

Security screening applies to everyone regardless of ticket type.
Suitcases aren't allowed. Bags larger than 55 × 35 × 20 cm are not admitted.

Closings & holidays

The Louvre is closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25. It remains open on all other public holidays unless they fall on a Tuesday, the museum’s day of closure.
