About this experience
The Museum of Music will take you on a chronological journey through Western musical genres from the 17th century to the present day. You can also take a geographic journey through different forms of music from around the world.
Check out the permanent collection exhibit of almost 1,000 instruments and art objects on display. Among them, you’ll find rare and extraordinary pieces like a tortoise guitar, octobass and crystal flute. Legendary instruments include Frédéric Chopin’s piano, Django Reinhardt’s guitar and a synthesizer from Frank Zappa.
Six chapters take you through the history of music in Europe and around the world, from the Baroque period up to the modern era. The museum offers free video guides that feature music played on the instruments in the collection.
