About this experience
This sensational museum is an homage to the late, great Pablo Picasso, one of the most famous names associated with the turn of the century’s Cubism movement.
The Picasso Museum boasts paintings, sculptures, photographs, and sketches collected from his personal studio. Take yourself on a tour around this museum and you will be sure to learn about his multifaceted approach to artistic expression and get an insight into the skill of this world-class artist.
Housed in a gorgeous 17th-century palace, known as the Hotel Salé, the museum comprises 4 floors of quirky pieces to peruse. Fans of his work will recognize his self-portrait, La Celestina, The Kiss, as well as large nudes, matadors and musicians.
This is a thoroughly unique experience for any art-lover and fan of Picasso.
Highlights
Paintings - over 300 paintings including the celebrated ‘Man with Guitar’ and a series of Surrealist works that represent the Spanish Civil War.
Sculpture - coming straight from his personal studio, Picasso’s sculptures are lesser-known but no less incredible. The collection includes wooden sculptures as well as bronze Prints - the great master loved to rework the basic medium of paper and experimented with it in various ways, such as pasting, ripping, layering and printing. See it first-hand right here.
Paper objects - the museum features 3,900 extra pieces of art that he fashioned by simply ripping and folding paper, highlighting his skill of employing different techniques to turn one piece of paper into something completely new.
