Musée d'Orsay

This striking former railway station, built in sumptuous Belle Époque style, became a museum in 1986. It sits on the banks of the Seine right opposite the Louvre and specializes in works of 19th and 20th-century art, sculpture, and early photography, with an abundance of world-famous pieces by some household names including Monet, Renoir, Gaugin, Cézanne and Van Gogh.

Home to the world’s largest collection of impressionist paintings, the Musée d’Orsay is an unmissable stop for every art-lover and romantic on a trip to Paris.
